5-Series (E12,E28, E34, E39, E60)Chat relating to the BMW 5-Series of all generations. As you are driving and you come to a stand still the gearbox for some reason disengages, (At no time do I take it out of drive)then as you push down on the accelerator, it takes a few seconds before it engages again. The revs are pretty much steady with slight fluctuation, nothing particularly unusual.
If anybody has had a similar problem I would be thankful for any ideas.
I assume nobody has any idea about this problem, I suppose it might be that there aren't many diesels in the US, whereas I'm in the UK. I would have thought it might have happened on a petrol car as well.
