ASC - No Light and tail end slides?

Ok, another problem. Have searched on here but found nothing similar.

As title says really “ASC - No Light and tail end slides?”

It appears to be permanently off, have checked fuses and all ok. Button does nothing and no ASC warning light on dash.

Anyone know what problem could be?

Thanks

lol, don't mind going sideways but local fuzz tend to frown on it .

Just want everything to work on the car really, new toy and all that.

I hear these computers can be expensive, would I not have any other faults showing if it had died completely?

Also would a used unit work or would it need to be programmed specifically to my car?

Ok, will be ripping cluster out tomorrow to check. Got to send it off for pixal repair anyway. Will check ECL also. Got a nasty feeling previous owner has removed bulbs to hide fault.

The E38's suffer 2!!! Can't believe BMW have continued to produce cars with this issue and still try to charge it's customers for the privilege!!!
I refuse to give money to them to fix it.

We have a few independent firms that specialise in fixing these over here and for a fraction of the price and give a lifetime guarantee. They will even come to your home and sort it there and then for an extra fee.

Oh well, car was a bargain, so what I saved will go towards making her perfect rather than silly mods. Had enough of those with my Impreza.

You simply took the cluster out and put it back in and it worked?????

I hope lady luck is shining down on me like that later today, although I will probably take it out and drop it knowing my luck lol.

I removed my cluster and couldn't access the bulbs I needed to get to but have found out that they are led's attached to the main board so shouldn't of blown or been possible to remove anyway (looks like fault lies elsewhere).

As for my pixels magically returning like yours did, alas I was not so lucky
