asc button

my 1997 528i the asc button i guess is off and i cant turn it on and my car acts like it wont go into gear. the light is on u know the ' ! " with the circle and also my abs light is on. happened at the same time. help.

Odd are theirs an issue with your ABS tome traction control. Try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes. Of that doesn't clear it take to get the OBD system scanned for any stored codes. Most auto parts stores will do it for free.
