Driving to an appointent on the highway, during a rain storm, my drivers side windshield wiper came off and flew away! Ontop of that, My wiper arm came down and cracked my windshield. ERR! : So, I drove to a Nissan dealership (nearest thing after driving in the rain blind for 20 miles) paid $13.00 for an frickin Anco wiper blade, and couldnt figure out how to get the darn thing on! The hook end on the arm is facing the opposite way as the passenger side. I was running late to me appt. and had to improvize, so I Magiver'd (sp) it and took the draw string out of my hoodie and tied it on! It worked!
Now, 2 questions. How do I get the dang wiper on and how much (estimate) to replace my windshield on my 1990 525i? WHAT A DAY!!!
I just had mine replaced about a month ago (following a flatbed trailer housing a earth mover, rock came flying off, highway speed...), ran me about 180 installed. The guy that replaced my windshield removed and reinstalled the arms. I cant remember how to attach the blade, I have just bought refills because my blades say BMW on them, I figure an Anco isnt quite as good as the ol' Bavarian team...

Yeah, it was kind of an emergency! I lost the wiper spoiler with it. I'm lucky everyone was further back down the road from me. $180 isnt to bad. I figured around $900 or something being a Bimmer!
