Anyone Remove The Resonator?

I have been trying to deceide whether or not to remove the stock resonator for a while now. Has anyone removed the resonator, and can you tell me positives vs. negatives from removing it?? I just want to wake up the exhaust tone a little bit to make it sound like I actually have a V-8 under the hood. I just dont want the ride to become annoying with interior noise, nor do I want the sound to be annoying when I pull into my neighborhood. I don't mind if it sounds aggressive - just don't want it to sound like those Hondas with the big fart cannon exhausts on them. Thanks!! I am looking for replies from people who have done this - not what people have heard about through this and other threads.

i dont have any resonators OR mufflers on my current vw. makes it sound like the v6 thats under the hood is a v8. but that is exactly what you DIDNT want to hear ghead
