I am a new BMW owner and live in the wintery midwest USA; I have performance tires and definitely need to get winter tires/wheels for the upcoming winter . . . anyone have advice/stories driving this rear-wheel drive in the snow and what tires should I get and where? Thanks!

I agree - I've gone with Tirerack for the last 20 years. They are experts. Give them a call and tell them what you're looking for. I need good performance in the dry, and reasonable snow tires. They recommended the Dunlop winter sport M3's. You can also read the tire reviews on their website:
