I have a non-BMW radio and the reception is really poor.
Because the three antennas are in the rear window and whilst the OEM radio is meant to select a combination of the three, my current radio doesn't select any of them. It just stays on one of them.
Is there a way to wire it so that the radio uses all three antennas, or is better to install an external antenna?
What year is your 535 and what radio system does it have in it? Does it have the top hi fi system with tweeters in the front doors up in the corner near the side view mirrors? By memory there really should be only 1 coax going into the antenna amplifier from the deck, some models did have a mini coax as well to 2 total. I believe the antenna amplifier does the distributing throughout the grid in the rear window. Give me the specific info and Ill look into it for you.
It's a 1998 model. I think it has a standard radio system. There are no tweeters in the door.
Is it possible to "tell/force" the antenna amplifier to use the entire antenna grid?
