They were a pain to install regarding the whole under the glass deal, I actually broke the glass on my high beam and had to replace the whole headlamp unit for 65 bucks. The stealthed apperance paid off though.
Umnitza was right, the things are bright as hell. The wiring harness made the install quite easy, as a sidenote to umnitza -- the battery post on the m50 engine DOES NOT SCREW OFF. you cant connect it with the circular wiring harness by removing the nut on the battery terminal. The battery termninal nut will not come off,and is indeed rectangular at the base. Some slight modification to the plan was required for installing it on my car, little soldering, some pliars, + elbow grease and the problem was solved however.
Other than that, what do you guys think?

Erm.... Not being funny but they're that bright you totally lose the Angel eye effect, I thought you had posted the wrong pics for a start, but then just made out that the light is a little darker in the middle, there is no clarity at all and it looks like a normal headlight to me rather than a subtle ring.
Think I'll give Umnitza a miss and wait until I can afford the real deal.
i personally think they are too bright, in the included pictures they blur together so much that unless you know what to look for they look just like the lights are on. i think that if they were just a little less bright they would look good.

Personally I can't see anything wrong with the brightness of the real angels - I can see them coming from over a mile away, why go brighter and spoil the whole effect, at the end of the day they are there purely as a visual not to aid in your vision.
Yeah, the camera gives the impression that they're too bright, in the daytime though, they're perfect. Plus when you actually look at the lights at night, they dont seem quite as bright as the picture displays, but they are still BRIGHT as hell.
Maybe a rheostat in between the hot wires would help....

Are your bulbs amber? But spray paitned clear? Liking the look ont he corners bud.

WTF are you talking about???
1: If you are implying that I am jealous cos I can't add them to mine - Don't talk shit , The question was asked "what do you think of them?" and I answered truthfully and said what I thought of them - I wasn't derogotory in anyway to the kid but simply said what I saw..
2: Of course you can add them to the e39 - the units come apart easier than on an e34 (Shows how much you know).
3: OPEN your eyes and look at the pics - US 2 GUYS haven't DECIDED they are blurry - THEY ARE BLURRY, to the point where you can't see any difference between them and normal headlights.
4: To make mine look better I will buy a proper set of Hellas - Nothing looks better than the originals.
5: You really are a dumb shit aren't you - how can you spraypaint an orange bulb clear????????? Is this a magic spraypaint you are using, do you buy it in magic fairyland or something?

I second, everything you posted Beelz.
///M power, normally i respect your opinions, but seriously don't try and talk s**t when you know nothing about what you are arguing about. I'll just pretend you forgot to think before you typed here and leave it at that.

///Mpower -- I'm getting silverstars after christmas. My corners are the usual ebayed clears, they're cheap, but they look nice enough for me. My bulbs arent painted, I bought the "stealth" bulbs from bavarian autosport, look silver when off, glow amber when on...
Beez/Sean -- Thanks for your opinions, but I think most of that is due to the camera, and some glare. And Xballer has seen them in person, and in person is all that really matters.

tiny wee bitty problem encountered today, at the first washing of said vehicle.
The angel eye ballasts are very sensitive to h2o. had a problem with one ring "shorting" out, should be only a temporary problem, as when the ballast dries out, all should be well again. I suggest/plan on encasing them in some sort of waterproof aparatus, may even track down some heatshrink to do the job. More at 11.
