just to get sort of off topic but on topic, my dad was a mechanic in the US millitary and more importantly an electirician for the NAVY for 18 years. and its safe to say that YES the US govenment built these multi million dollar planes well, but like my dad said..........not that well.
I couldn't ask for a better testimony than your dad's first hand experience in the military/navy; while it is true that we are far from coming out of a near perfect car/jetfighter; I still maintain that the US is the only SUPERPOWER left after the collapse of the Soviet Union. This is due "PARTLY" to the US military superiority; to maintain that superiority they realize the importance of "cutting edge technology" in military hardware (though not perfect as your dad said) but it is there compared with other countries i.e F15 Eagle vs. Mig 23!!!

Taking BeelZ's point can we continue with the new topic right here on this posting; It is in the wrong place but it is HERE. I don't feel dealing with whatever BEELZ is describing lthough I never had a serious problem. When it gets too much I usually take the fifth.
