Got another alloy question can you fit a set of alloys from a 3 series on to e39 5 series

I would say No.

Like you cant put 5 series on a 7 series

cheers guys just my luck every time i see a nice set of bmw alloys going at the right price there off another series but mine .will just have to keep looking

Not just the offset but hub center bore size is different and most other models.

had the same luck, already stucked with two extra sets that do not fit my car.......

Don't relly know, probably your best bet would be to confirm offset, bolt pattern, center bore size, and rim size before you will pay any money to ensure it willl fit your car. E39 have uique wheel specs, so you want to double or triple check....
