airbag sensor came on and oil sensor comes on and goes off
Why did the airbag sensor come on for apparent reason and the oil sensor light on and goes off? All oil changes and services current. Help,it's do for inspection next month. It's an 02' 525i
Also, i have a rattle on front right side each time i hit a bump, i have had the car picked up 3 times to look for the problem and cant find the problem, everything appears to be tight. Why??
airbag/oil lights... best you go and have your car scanned to eliminate the guesswork.
** in bimmers, most common airbag problem is the mat sensor under the passenger seat. If u just came out of a carwash or you drove in the rain, then the sensor may have been damaged.
oil lights.. make sure oil levels are where they should be. re-check.
sound... rattle? what kind of noise... metal-to-metal, metal-to rubber? constant... intemittent....? does it happen only when wheels are straight, when the wheels are turned, or doesn't matter...? sounds when u brake hard..yes? no?
defective or loose parts sound in different ways-a more accurate description will help

Thanks, I found the rattle, it was the heat shields with a rock stuck between them behind the rotor. Oil levels are good and How do i check the air bag sensor under the passenger seat to see if its any good?
oh yeah, by the way, i live in Utah but i am originally from San Francisco.
This is my first BMW and i love the car, there's just a lot of things I keep having to fix on it. However i am putting new wheels and tires on it. 20x10's on rear and 19x8's on the front. I have to wait to get tires in the spring, it'll be winter here soon, so thats fine with me. When i get them i will post pics.
