if the SRS light is on there is an SRS fault that may have deactivated the entire system to prevent accidental deployment of safety systems or something as simple as a faulty seat belt switch...either way I would take it to the nearest BMW Center and have it checked out...I mean it is the vehicles safety system and I would want to know that it is there to help me out if I were to need it...but that's just me.
