| Airbag firing circuit I had the gauge cluster replaced in my 97 540iA at the only Utah dealer last week under the BMWNA replacement program. I noticed while driving home from the dealer that the airbag light was on, so I called them about it. They indicated it had been on, just not lit on my old cluster (bulb burned out). I asked if they had diagnosed what the problem was (since they had done so with a few other things) but they said no they hadn't. I was a little frustrated that they had failed to even mention such an important safety concern to me. The next day I drove down to Los Angeles to visit my parents. While visiting, I had a local indy shop pull the codes. They didn't tell me the exact code, but said it came up as "Firing Circuit - PP." Can anyone tell me what that exactly means? I'm thinking it obviously means there is a fault in the firing circuit, but for which airbag? Is this something only the dealership can diagnose? Or could I get a Peak Diagnostic Tool and DIY it? Thanks for any help. |
