Air Mass Meters?

I think that I've figured out my codes. Talked to a private BMW mechanic and he said that symptoms and codes point to Air mass sensor.

I'm seeing these things listed for the low 300$'s shipped. Do you guys know of a cheaper source? or maybe have a servicable one for sale?

Thanks
lc

For what model ? ( as much info as possible) Although I am in the U.K sounds a bit pricey to me maybe I can source it cheaper for you.

Regards

Marti

Sorry fella's. I forgot that the car info isn't in my sig.

It's a 99 year model 528i.

I believe that MAF and AFM are all the same. I've seen the same product listed by different names on the online sales sites.

A follow-up question would be issues with this thing? Is there a common failure in this meter?

I'm going to try to clean it first and see what happens. I found a link about cleaning them if they are coated in crud.
