Hey all, I have a 1993 525i, and whenever the air conditioning fan is on, it makes a rattle sound near the front. What could this be? Is it something i can attack with a ratchet and make it stop? its sort of annoying, as its the only thing that really rattles in my car.

I bet it's just something loose. Go at it with a ratchet and see if it solves the problem.

Any specific parts to assault that would cause this problem?

there is no problem. that is just the way they al sound. I thought there was something wrong with my 92 525i until i toook it to the mechanic and I also listened to three other cars he had there doing the same thing. Mine did it for 70,000 miles that I had it and I never had a problem. My 93 325 does the same thing. No worries!

I had the same thing happen: As soon as i would start the A/C the car would start to rattle and shake. I took off the front grille and found that my A/C fan blade was missing half a blade. This made it unbalanced, making it shake. I got a new fan for $65.

Same thing on my e39, it doesn't shake my car but my airconditioning does make my car sound worse.

The fan may be bad. With it running, you may be able to see it wobble.
