my air light is staying on. is this a common problem? how can i sort it?

Ya...bimmers will do that to you...shouldn't be a problem...mine is flashing now as well...but thats because I didn't disconnect my battery when changing my bulbs in the dash... ghead
Just bring it in and have them reset it...that should do it...but then again maybe there is a problem...but highly unlikely...

Did you bump the wheel or disconnect anything from the column? I've worked with mine without the batt. disconnected and have had no issues. Man... that sucks :P
Just go to the dealer (unless you have a diagnostic / reset tool for more than just engine codes) and have them check it out and reset the light if nothing is wrong.
The light just randomly popped up on my e39 one day... really wierd, too lazy to fix it though. haha
myu lights has been on for ages. tried the reset tool but no hope. it needs plugging into a machine. could be the pad on the passenger seat. ? its been on for ages now but i think i need to sort it out. seeing that light pisses me off. it could even be the sensor?/

...you can always remove the light bulb for the SRS signal from the dash...

Scott: I have the same problem as you did - changed bulbs today in my dash without disconnecting batttery...did it in two cars. Results: flashing SRS light in each.
I'll have them reset on Monday. Thank yo for sharing the info. Regards, Sam

This is a very common problem, usually it is a faulty wire under the front seat, fix for the dealers.
They need to reset the onboard computer to kill the light as well.

sometimes it makes u think is BMW as good as it meant to be?
A friend of mine had this light flashing for a week, and i told him this also happened in my mom's Golf... a week later the airbags blew out when parking the car... lucky he wasnt going fast... so i'd get that checked !

Hi guys,
i've heard there is a way to bypass the passenger seat sensor (to make sure it will not break again...). Is there a some kind of instruction on doing that bypass trick somewhere (and resetting the light with Peake airbag tool afterwards)?
