aftermarket ipod connection

I want to do a good aftermarket ipod connection, any ideas?

I made the same inquiries about a week ago and was informed the Dension Gateway 100 works 100%. I have used the previous Dension Ice link plus product in my E46 328 and was very happy with the results.
The Gateway 100 offers multi function steering wheel controls, heads up display and also you don't have to lose your existing cd player as they can work together. The install is very easy as it basically just plugs in and functions like your cd shuttle would.
I drive a E39 540i with business DSP radio. I would suggest you confirm witch units would work best with your car and ipod before you buy it also makes a difference if you have a DSP head unit or not.

I have the harmon kardon drive+play and have been pretty happy with it. I use it with the direct connection since I have an aftermarket head unit. The FM modulator wasnt that good with it, but most aren't anyway. I am thinking about upgrading to the newer version since it is mostly wireless, but may just end up getting a new headunit with iPod integration built in.
