I've searched the forum, but can't seem to find info for adding a cell phone to my '98 540. It came with a pre-wired "brick" phone with the hands free setup. Is there any way to adapt the wiring for a newer cell phone? I know that I can use a bluetooth adapter, but that's a bit pricey ($600+). Can anybody point me in the right direction? Thanks.
After market option can get you Bluetooth for much less (~$300) that OEM with better capability to new BT phones. The best cost effective solution is to install Parrot 3000 evolution kit with Steering wheel bottoms and Audio integration.
Take a look at Parrot at tigerdirect.com – they on special
at Connects2Auto,Car Audio integration specialists - Steering adapters for the adapter.
I did this setup in my E39 M5 and love it. Works great.
