I have a 99 540 that will not start, it will crank but no start seems to be no pressure at the fuel rail when the schrader valve is pushed in . i would expect fuel instead it just releases a very small amount vapor. i haven't started digging to find the root cause of the problem just thought maybe a fuel pump would be a possibility but i know there's two pumps in the gas tank . lift and the actual pump. any help would be great .
check fuel filter first. If free and clear, re-install.
If u still suspect fuel pump... shoot some brake cleaner/carb cleaner into the throttle body and start. If it does fire momentarily... then, it is the fuel pump not working.
