I am selling my E39 BMW540 with 233k miles. This car is loaded with every option offered including GPS with updated maps in 2006. heated seats & Steering wheel. 6 disk cd changer, integrated phone, cruise... the list goes on. In 1999 the car listed at $58,000, I still have the sticker for the car. It is an automatic and the color is charcoal gray exterior with a gray interior. The car needs some work and I can give details on things that are needed. Here is some of the things needed, 2 window regulators for rear windows, ABS module pump & GPS (the abs module pump should fix the GPS according to forums). I had the actual ABS module repaired, but did not resolve, tested and the pump needs replacement. The pixels in the front dash are starting to go as well and I believe it may need some new brake pads. I estimate that about $1500 - $2k will resolve all the issues with the car. One other thing is that there is some surface rust on the trunk lid, bottom left. The car has been sitting in my driveway since Dec. with very little driving done since then, thus I have decided it is time to part with arguably the best car ever made.
Shoot me an email and I can send you some pictures... The car was always well maintained from the engine's perspective... Change the oil, keep tranny clean, and flush the system and your call will run forever.
Engine has never been rebuilt, tranny is fine and just regularly maintained with no issues. The issues reside within the E39 gremlins (electrical)
