Hi was wondering if anyone drives a 98 540i 6 speed in colorado winter conditions or similiar conditions? How does the ride handle, do you feel safe?
I am buying a 1998 540i 6sp sport BMW. Any concerns with this model or reviews from people that have this car?
Thanks for your input-
Learn how to fight speeding tickets in court...lol! Don't sweat the details, lets review reality here. I'm Canadian and am 57 years old. Now when I was a young bunny driving, all cars were rear wheel drive. Except most of the cars didn't have the 50/50 balance that the Bimmer's have. So a Bimmer will be better behaved in the snow than most of the past rear wheel drive cars, like Chevys, Fords, Buicks, etc. Yet these out of balance of cars are what got us Northern Climate types around for decades.
Use snow tires, buy a fifty pound bag of sand if you aren't happy with performance and carry it in your trunk in the worst of the weather. You shouldn't have to do that however.
You should be able to do a goggle search for reviews. The car was given excellent reviews and was considered the top luxury sport car on the planet.
