98 540i

Hey whats up? I'm new to the forum and actually I'm a new bmw owner. I just recently puchased a 98 540i auto and was wondering if anybody new what the 0-60 was for the car. Everywhere you can find the 0-60 for the manual but not the auto, any help is appreciated thanks

1998 540i
Engine Type: 4.4 L V8
Transmission: Five Speed Automatic
Horsepower Generated (RPM): 282 bhp (5,700 RPM)
Torque Generated (RPM): 310 lb-ft (3,900 RPM)
0-60 (manufacturer's data): 6.4 seconds
Fuel Consumption (EPA Estimate): 18/24 mpg City/Highway

I've seen 6.0 sec being claimed in many reviews.
And I've tested mine with a friend beside me using a stopwatch, clocking at just over 6.0something sec. I think that the 6.4 sec quoted above might be a little too far off. Or maybe the sport package has different gear ratios? I'm not sure...but I know the 2001 model has like 8hp more, from 282 to 290.
The manual does it in just under 6 sec.

Does anyone know the actual 0-60 of the 528i Sport Auto, and does it make a difference as the sport versions have a better exhaust system etc. than the SE models.
