I am definately going to swap the ugly stock rear tails. I have seen many different ones on ebay(and half LEDS). I wanted to know if the after market ones for 170 are the ones i should go with. Are the quality good?
After market ones for $170 means aboslutely nothing! Unless of course you expect us to go surfing ebay for you.
There are loads of different types out there. Generally the celis LED ones are deemed the most desirable AND most expensive. However go with caution as you may need a wiring upgrade to enable these to work on your 97.
He doesn't say enough about them. They are definetly not Celis LED and could be either straight replacement for a Late 2000-2003 model in which case you would need a conversion kit, or they may be designed as a facelift for the 97-early 2000 models to make them look like the later ones. Email him and ask. For a pair of staight replacement rears to give the later look to my 98 I would expect to pay around £120 that's around $216, So as things are generally a bit cheaper in the US that would fit in with the auction you are watching. LED's are usually about 50%-100% more.
I hear a good place in the states/Canada for this stuff is BVAUTO.com
