97 540i - Window Regulator Wire Snapped

Hey all, long time no see.

I just got back from Ohio driving 6 hrs with the front passenger window down - not by choice. I ripped off the door panel to find a shredded cable. Has anyone else had this happen, furthermore how much might a new regulator run. I ran the part # and it showed ended....

P.S. Since my last post my dear 540i has surpassed 200,000 mi. with 0 engine problems. Luckily this is the only real problem in the last 10,000. Gotta love the E39!
