'97 528i Climate Control Button Fell Off - BMW Forum

I have a 1997 528i. Does anyone have a solution for fixing the climate control fan speed button that fell out of the face plate? It's the button with the "+" and "-" to control the speed of the fan. I tried putting it back in and securing it but it doesn't seem to snap in. I suspect it's suppose to go in throguh the back side.

If anyone knows of any solutions it would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem, & the only solution is to replace the complete face plate.

My advise is to buy second hand one. I got one at around 50$ only.

if only one of the tabs is broken , you can use some silicone , i used permatex "the right stuff" because of its flexibility.
Jst put a small dab with a toothpick on the tab reciever set in position and let dry overnight.
It should work if both are broken , the stuff is very flexible .
might use a q-tip and clean off first with alcohol (rubbing)
