97 528i bulb missimg indicator insignia!!!!! - BMW Forum

Where it shows, door ajar, or bulb is out, I have some indicator showing
right in the middle, but I can't make out what it is, any body have a clue?
It indicates as though it is somewhere in the center front compartment,like
a light in the dash, say, the radio. I don't drive it much, my wife comes home
with these little problems. If anyone has a clue, I would appreciate the info.
I don't know where, or, what to look for in the book. Where are you DH737?

i'm trying to imagine what a 97 528i cluster looks like. none of the friends have one at the moment... but a pic of the item in question might give me a hint ;-)

When a light bulb, say, a left rear bulb is out, in the cluster, a picture of the car
appears, and it shows the left rear light,just as it will show if a door is open.
in this case it is showing, like in the middle. The gear indicator light is on, so it
can't be it.

its the middle brake light or ur run brake lights....the brake lights that turn on when the headlights are on..

You may have had something there, the center brake light had fallen out of
the socket, it was on, in the trunk, so I had to place it back in the socket.
Still I have this image of the car in the cluster, with this light on in the middle
front of the inside of the car. I guess I will have to get a magnifying glass and
see if I can see what I can make of it, I haven't a clue. I'm sure the book won't
give a indication as to what it might be. Thanx in advance.

You couldn't see it if taken with a picture, I will have to get a magnifying
glass to try and make out what it is. If you are sitting in the car with the
door open, a picture of the car will appear, and show the car door open,
and in the middle front portion, somewhere around the dash, I suppose,
is this thing showing a light is out.

Only a guess right now, but, I think it is low,or empty, window washer.
Make sense anyone? looking at the light, it kind of look like 2 wipers.

lol inner front is the washer and the inner back is the brake light and the outer front is the headlight and the outer back is the taillight and u kno the sides r the door... does the car beep and the light turns on... i think u right.. i remember seeing the to... fill the washer tank up and well see...

It was the washer, filled it up, and, voilla!!!!!!
