| 95 e34 540i Autodim mirror swap
Hey everyone, I have a quick question about doing the autodim mirror swap in my 540i. From everything I've read it seems like the mirror harness plug in the car is apparently tucked away in the roofliner somewhere? Mine appears to go to my mirror. Even though the mirror is manual and more or less has a "clown nose" except black and you twist it between 0 and 1 to dim the mirror.
The problem is, it turns out the remote entry/alarm receiver is housed inside this clown nose. Do the newer mirrors also have this? Say if I were to use an X5, or e39, or e46 mirror, will my alarm still work properly? I might buy a 2001 740i mirror that has the red clown nose on it, does anyone know if this has the remote receiver in it too? |
