'95 E34 525i 5 Speed Transmission Clicking Sound

I have this clicking sound coming from what I suspect is the transmission feels like right below my gear shifter. I can easily duplicate it by going slow and then getting on the accelerator happens from 1st gear to 4th gear on acceleration. I don't hear it in 5th on the hwy. If I put in the clutch I don't hear it. I have replaced the flex disc (guibo) and transmission mounts, same problem. I have 140k miles on car read somewhere this is a transmission main shaft noise and it is normal??? This noise although subtle is driving me nuts. Trans shifts fine no problem. I know there is a cv bearing at the end of the drive shaft, the noise almost sounds like a cv bearing going bad (click click click) but the noise is coming from right at or below the shifter, not rear of car??? Any suggestions? Thanx
