94 525i suspension problem; Need help

Hi there,

I am new here and this is my first BMW.
Anyway, I've had the car about 3 months and it runs great. However, I went to drive it today and it seems every time I go over even the smallest bump the wheel on the front passenger side slams down pretty hard. On smooth road it doesn't do it. No loss of steering control.

Any speculations as to what the problem could be? I want to have a clue when I bring it to the mechanic so I can avoid being ripped off.

Also, if you think you might know what the problem is; How much do think the repair will run me?

That may be a bad shock.

That's what I was thinking too. What do you think this is gonna run me price wise?

esay 90 to 150 for the part depending on brand and 80 t0 170 labor dependig where you go. check if oil is coming out of the shock
