I've got a 1992 535i with an e34. Recently it overheated and blew the expansion tank hose. i replaced the hose and troubleshot it to the fan clutch but havent had a chance to replace the clutch yet. Havent overheated since i replaced the hose so it has been running fine. Yesterday i ran the car all day with no problems and parked it in my driveway with the windows down. i tried to start it this morning and nothing. everything turns on but it doesnt crank, it doesnt even attempt to start, nothing at all. Please help what do i do?
Pull your spark plugs and see if they smell like gas. If you smell gas on them you're probably flooded. If you moved the car say about 5-10 feed and then just shut it off it's a possibility.
Worst case you have a jammed injector. Throw some injector cleaner in it and attempt to raise the motor's compression. Check the codes before you do this.
Get yourself a quart of oil and a turkey baster, pull all the plugs, and drop some oil down the spark plug holes. Put your plugs back in and try to start it. You will have an assload of smoke from the burning oil, but if the car is flooded it should give it enough compression to turn it over and get it running on it's own. Make sure you drive it until it stops smoking to get all that oil out. It may try and stall on you, so keep an eye on the tach.
