Hello, this is my first post. My problem is. The passenger seat's back is all the way down, and when you try to bring it back up just the left side of the back comes up but the right side doesn't. does anyone know what could be the problem?
i believe the seat is run on 2 acuators, a left and a right. one of them doesnt work, the other does. the one that doesnt work will remain stationary as the other works as it should. thus the dead side needs to be replaced by removing the seat ( two bolts in the rear of the seat and slide forward to unhinge the front), then replace the faulty acuator or turn it manualy to a suitable possition if possible.
Actually, it's a broken gear. Their are no actuators. Just a gear mechanism. The seat motor has a little gear in it that sometimes breaks. It's fixable. Here's the part: BMW E36 Reclining Seat Gear (White Gear)
