So I just bought this beautiful 1992 5 series... it is almost perfect except for one thing. The car has the old Bucket Headlights. Is there anyway to convert them to look like the newer non-bucket (inclosed) headlights. I know I would need to replace the grill and do some mods, but somebody has to have tried this. Please email me any information you can get me.

I have the EXACT same question, but for 94-95 525i-530 series, I LOVE the car, but the headlights just don't fit my personality, I to am curious as to if there is a faq or such on converting older (1992-1996) series headlights to the more sleek versions. In fact, if there was a way to make them look more like the 3xx series headlights and anyone can help, please let me know. It would be greatly appreciated.
There is not a way unless you have loads of money (for which you can just go buy a new BMW), and a reputable body shop that will convert your whole front end.
Some guy over on another forum tried to stick e39 lights on his 90 535i and basically ruined the car...
Personally, I like the 4-eyed look, but to each his own.
