'92 525I 193,000 miles "Check Control" comes on after shutting off engine. There is a listing of codes in the FAQ section, I assume this would apply to this model. I'm not sure which version the car has, Motronic I, II etc.
The speedometer jumps at highway speeds (60 to 70 mph). And the cruise will stop functioning when this happens. Somewhere I heard there was a wiring repair involving the speed sensor at the axle housing.
This is my first time on this list. The car belongs to Dad, he bought it new, I have done some of the repairs over the years. BMW tells me the service manuel is not available for sale to the general public. What a bunch of crap.
