My daughter has a 91 525i and she just came home from out of town and informed me she has two lights on the instrument cluster that have come on. One is the Brake pad wear light and the other is the pad sensor light. I realize this is warning about the brake pad being worn and needs to be replaced but why two lights and why is one for pads and one for the sensor? She said the pad wear light has been on for some time now which probably means a month or two. The sensor light came on today. Once these lights come on how much generally speaking does one have before the pads get to the rotor?
there is only 1 brake pad indicator light. brake sensor light, pad indicator light or brake lining light are all different wordings for the same thing. maybe you have a brake fluid light along the with lining light or perhaps you have a brake bulb failure light on.
