86 528e timing belt crank shaft-Stuck-Help

Had hose leaks. Decided to replace all hoses, belts, water pump and timing belt at same time. Aligned at top dead center. Everything reinstalled. MY problem is that i am unable to rotate the crankshaft the 720 degrees as recommended by Bentley manual. Should I use an assist to strike the wrench or what. I REALLY NEED SOME GOOD ADVICE!!
