I just bought a 1985 bmw 528e for 500 dollars. it ran for a couple of days then i went outside to start it one morning and it would turn over but never fire.. i checked for fuel and spark and found no spark. so i got frustrated and said the hell with it and let it sit for a couple of days. then wehn i went to start it is fired right up. i checked the coil and when the key is on both sides of the coil are showing power? i tried a new coil and still the same thing any ideas. i'm tired of driving it for a day and then having to wait 3 to drive it again. and all the mechanics in my area wont touch it andf i cannot afford the bill to tow it 50 some odd miles to the nearest one in the first place.... ANY ideas.
the E28 fuseboxes are so finnicky. Sometimes you can mess with the fuses, or make sure the main relay is properly seated...
It's nice to have extra relays and fuses for just such an occasion.
I had a problem similar to yours, and it turned out to be an extreme vacuum leak.

How could a vacume problem be the cause it has no spark at all???? all the relays are good it seems like the signal from the computer to the coil should be a pulse as the engine turns over not a solid power supply to both side of it.. i could be wrong i have been before i am just fed up with this car ...
