Here we go again...another "no start" problem with an e28.
Car died while driving down interstate; no forewarning, no prior symptoms. Had it towed back home, will turn over, but no start.
I replaced fuel pump and main relays, no start.
I replaced fule pump, no start.
I checked ignition, no spark therefore no start.
Speed and reference sensors are fine (read OK per Bentley manual).
Coil readings are fine; rotor, cap and coil wire are fine.
What else is there, except a faulty Motronic ecu, or reference pin on flywheel?
If it is the ecu, does anyone have one they would sell?

My 87 did this to me with the same symptoms -- all the sensors checked ok, plenty of fuel etc but no spark. It was caused because the raised pin on the flywheel that the reference sensor reads had broken off. We tried to weld it back on but couldn't and ended up replacing the flywheel.
