I just renently bought my wife a clean low mile (100,000) 94 540i. Most everything on the car works but when you put the heat or AC on high there is a slight vibration. Has anyone every experienced this? Also I heard that there is a filter for the system and watned to know where it was located to replace it.

In regards to the vibration. When the AC is on, the aux fan begins to run. This fan is notorious for causing vibrations. Often times it is out of balance and shakes. Check it out and see if any of the blades are chipped or badly scratched.
