ghead

After a significant snow and ice storm, turned on the wipers without cleaning the windshield ( too lazy ) and the wipers stopped then started but stoped in the vertical position. I had this problem once a year ago on the highway in driving rain and wind when they just stopped working at 140 KM/HR then started again a couple of minutes later but stopping once off, in the vertcal position.

They reset themselves during the winter I guess during a storm like the one we just went trew and realigned themselves.

Is the only fix to reset the mechanical system from the wiper motor attachement?

Pierre

I Just rectified the situation. I held on to the driver's wiper blade while engaging them. I could feel the cam disengage then re engage, at which time I let go and voila..good as new. Must be a fail safe mechanism. Hope this helps someone on the forum.
