I am in the market for new tires for my 2002 530i sport and was wondering what you guys recommend. I searched but couldn't find any specifics for the sport model.
Also would I be better off getting all seasons or another set of rims (16's?) with winter tires? If any of you do this is there a OEM rim that would get the job done?
I mounted the Bridgestone Turanza LS-V on my sport. They give up a little in handling, but the ride improved and the quietness is amazing. It's like a different car. I'd recommend them highly if you're not a handling-first guy. I'd say the drop off is maybe 20%.
I replaced the original Dunlop 2000s with Dunlop 9000s on my 2001 530i Sport. I wouldn't recommend 9000s, very hard sidewalls, I was constantly rebalancing because of vibration. I then tried some Yokohamas that only lasted 15,000 miles. Now I have Bridgestone Turnanza. So far very good. Can't help on winter, I do high mileage highway driving, no snow.
Just a note to add....If you live somewhere where there is a fair amount of snow, definitely get a set of snow tires as the pirelli's dont hold up real well in ice/snow conditions...

Thanks for all the suggestions. I actually have Bridgestone Turanza LS-Z's now, I'm not sure of the difference with the LS-V but I have seen good reviews for it.
Unfortunately when I do get snow it can be pretty bad, being rear wheel drive with summer tires wouldn't help so I figure a good winter tire/rim combo is in order.
