| 530i Check Engine Light
Hi,
Im new to the forum and new to BMW so you'll have to forgive me for being a little unknowledgable. I just bought a 95' 530i a couple days ago. It's such a great car and i love the way it feels. But today i was driving off and realized my check engine light was on. It was on when i was stopped but then after i started going it turned off. Also i noticed that the engine had a little rougher of a idle when the light was on but then when it turned off it was fine. I was driving to my grandparents house which is about five minutes away, and by the time i had gotten there i stopped to check and see if the light would come back on or if the idle would be rough again. It wasn't and i thought everything was fine. But when i came back and turned it on again it didn't show the check engine light but the idle was rough. Does anyone know what this could be? I check my manual and it says when the check engine light comes on that it's something wrong with the exhaust. Im also not sure whether my engine is a Nikasil or not, could someone tell me where the engine ID# thingy is?
