528i for sale, possibly....or help with head gasket - BMW Forum

alright, so I just got done putting the motor all back together after replacing the head gasket. Go to start it up, and it wont start....i dont think timing is off because motor spins freely (didnt hit the valves) and all. Buuut when I took the valve cover back off, there was coolant in the head? I have no idea where or how the coolant has gotten in their, and it is driving me nuts. I really do not want to take it all back apart again, but it looks like I might have to, unless someone wants to buy it as is. Body and interior are both in amazing shape, the color is a deep blue. 6 cd changer, heated seats, all that fun stuff. No rips or tears in any of the leather which is still very soft, no cracks in dash, carpet looks great.

So Possibly if anyone is interested, send me a message and I will send some pictures back. If i do sell it, im just looking to get what I owe out of if which is 5,600.

If anyone has any ideas on what went wrong during the rebuild....well feel free to help me out there to. Very dissappointing to get done and have something like this happen lol

I will go out and take some pictures right now, bear in mind I havent washed her in a while, but she has absolutely no paint fading or anything but like 1 or 2 VERY small dents that you cannot even notice.....history is I bought it last year, drove it around for a while, had some overheating issues, thought I had taken care of it by bleeding it and went to drive down to a bucs game and bam, engine stalled pulled off to the side and towed it home. Assumed it was the head gasket, so much presure had built up in the cooling system it blew a hole in the resevoir.....got it home, took it all apart...everything looks good, no damage to piston, rings still good, AC, all pumps still working, no fluid leaks.....waited a little while and ordered some parts for it, and just finished putting it back together a week or so ago. Just with my work schedule I rarely get any time to work on the car......She has always been waxed with ICE synthetic polish and interior taken care of with ph balanced leather products. 6cd and all other systems work fine. I bought a mercedes slk230 after it broke down, and to be honest I really miss all the luxury the 528 had over the mercedes....I guess if I had gotten something other than a sports car it might have been a bit nicer, but I honestly should have stuck with BMW, much betther cars IMHO....eventually im probably gonna wind up trading in on a 328i or something and get rid of the slk.....for being supercharged they arent that impressive.......Pics should be up within an hour or two

Mercedes are overrated. Especially the cheaper supercharged ones. I drove a 2000 c230 kompressor and was not impressed. Ended up buying my e34. looking forward to seeing the pics of the car

I have and engine for a e39 528i I'm selling cheap... Also where are your located

THe slk kompressor is under pwered from the factory just do a pully upgrade intake and software and you can get some really good numbers ... I am from the benz world and now have bimmers not because there better just are a better deal...

I will go check the door code right now....I have looked into the pully upgrade pretty intensely, only one I can find is on that forum and its like 957 dollars just for the pulley.....a bit expensive lol I have been hoping to find one a little bit cheaper than that.....i havent read about any software upgrades though?
