I got a question for You all. I am planning on buying a 2000 528i from a dealership. It is black with beige interior, sport and premium pkg. x-enon lights, has almost 38 000 miles on the clock, and is BMW certified. Car was listed for $32900. I got the dealer down to $30 500. Do You think that it is a good price or I should do better than that? Car is in a very good codition no major scratches or dents, interior looks good as well. Here is picture of it.http://images.zwire.com/carcast_imag...8006/2293B.JPG
Any comments are welcome.

6 months ago, I bought my 528i Sport (49500 miles at the time) for $23,900 in Dallas. Autotrader shows they tend to go for less than that now in that area. At that same time, dealers in my area wanted $29,000 for 528i with more miles and in ruff condition. You might want to look at a major city nearby and prices might be cheaper there. (ie: Dallas and Houston are a hellofa lot cheaper than Oklahoma City for high end cars)

This is a soft market for used cars because of all the incentives and rebates on new ones. They should be dying to get rid of that car. It does look like a nice car and good equip and miles. But the most I would pay is $26,000 (at least in the Dallas area)

that price seems about right for what a dealer would ask for a CPO 528i. beautiful car btw, great choice

thanx guys, I am from ct and the only reason why I am willing to buy this car is of it's options, plus no other dealer in ct area has a car like that.

And a dealer CPO does cost more than a non CPO. If you like it and it's worth it to YOU, go for it, especially if you plan to keep it a few years. I really wanted a black one when I was shopping. I headed to Dallas with a cashiers check for a black non-sport and looked at 5 others and the one I went to buy was just not as good a car as the one I found and ended up buying.

If you plan to mod it at all, I really really really recommend the angel eyes conversion. That's my favorite thing about this car. And if you get the blac one and do that and get the celis clear turnsignals in back, it will look like a 2001 or newer.

Right this is my other question. I am not planning on havy mods cuz it will be a car for my girlfriend, i have haveally modded gti, but I do want to do the angel light conversion as well as a turn and back lights from the newer bimmers. Where would be the best place to get them from?

49,500 miles is a lot though. and what year is your 528?

removal of the lights is very easy.....maybe sooner could create a DIY, but i know there are lots of them out there!

I took mine to a body shop for the Racing Dynamics front lip and rear apron and had them do the lights at the same time so sorry, I can't give specific instructions.
