Hello, I've got a 1984 528e that I put a Sony cd receiver into...replacing the stock stereo. The stereo works fine until I raise the volume to a level that is pushing the speakers to a nice punch...optimum listening level. The stereo cuts off and comes back on and resumes playing- BUT will cutoff again if I don't lower the volume level.
I've had both the battery and alternator checked and both are fine. What could be the problem? A short? All fuses in the fusebox have been replaced with brand new. I would love some input on this problem (common?)....
