I bought an 87 528e for $400, which had the timing belt break and bent the valves. I replaced all the valves, water pump, ignition rotor, distributor cap, and plugs. when I started it the first time, it started right up, but the idle pulsed, and was rough, and would kill if I didn't give it gas. The lights flashed upon starting, and the check light keeps flashing, indicating a problem. Today, I went to start it, and the engine turns over, but does not start. I think it's getting fuel, because I can smell it at the engine. All fuses are good, and I think all the vacum hoses are on right. I didn't remove much, since I just propped up the planum while taking the head off. Any suggestions. Thanks Daddio
