okay so i have an automatic 1983 528e and earlier today i went to grab the shift nob to put it in drive, and the whole nob came off. the safety switch on the nob is pressed in and wont release.
i tried putting it back on, even with the metal pin inserted in the proper place, but for some reason, it wont shift into park.
do i just need to replace the nob? or is this a bigger problem than i realize?
