525i with M3 Cams - BMW Forum

I everybody! (i speak french) I have a 525i e34 1995 and I want it to be faster!! someone said me to remplace the original camshaft for a M3 camshaft... I don't know if it's easy to remplace and I don't know wich one I have to buy!!! and I don't know the consequances.... please help me! Thanks a lot!

You need s50 cams; it's quite an extensive job. Download the Bentley manual at the top of the 5 series forum; it has instructions for replacing cams.

Also, to get the most benefit out of them, you will want a chip programmed for them, or a standalone engine management such as Megasquirt; but they will give you power even without a tune.

Another option (maybe cheaper) is to send your cams for a custom regrind; Delta Camshaft -- they have excellent prices and do top notch work; have only heard great things about them. Might be something you want to consider.
