520i fuel consumtion - BMW Forum

Hi,
anyone has e60 or e39 520i, 125 kW?
I would like to know your fuel consumption urban and extra urban.
Also please specify if the car is manual or auto.

i had a 520 once (E39) and then replaced it by a 525i

the 520 fuel consumption is much more higher than the 525!

the 520 was doing like 70 Km's for each 10 litres,
where the 525 gives a straight 100 Km for each 10 litres of petrol!

Convert them to Mile and Gallon if you want

70 Km's for each 10 litres is around 14.3 litres per 100 km.
I'm getting around 16 l/km!

it may vary from car to car..and i was talking about the avg consumption

and it is well known that the 520 spends much more than the 523 or 525.

i have 2003 e39 520i
in town i have arround 16L/100KM
but at highway it makes 7.4L/100KM

i think its cuz of small size engine with heavy body

smaller engine is working harder to push the same body. i mean the curb weight of the car is slightly lower than the bigger engine models but you accelerate harder trying to do the speed limit with a 2.0 than you would say a 3.0... my cousin has a v8 5.7L camaro and it gets a little less than half of their 1.4L (i think) hundai... makes sence?
