518i touring air-intake - BMW Forum

I did some reading thru the threads about the ait-intakes and such, but nothing on the 4 banger was found. SO....Here are a couple of pics of it and a couple questions. I would like to kill the box and put in a cone. Question is what do I do with the sensor on the top of the box? It's the only wiring hooked up to the air-intake that I can see, and when you dis-connect it, it runs like crap and drowns it's self when you throttle up. A little coaching would be appreciated

Why do you want a cone filter? there really is not much of a gain from them(usually trhere ius a loss due to you are now sucking in Hot engine bay heat) Usually just intake noise....

if you REALLY want one you can get an adapter on ebay....

Call me tarded if you want, but I like that sound...

I know I will have to shield it and such to keep the air temp down.

I'm thinking there are wires there going to a sensor, so which wires do you cross to eliminate the sensor?...without buying an adapter?
