Anyone with an e28 2.5 ltr - totally stock and lives near birmingham, england, wanna try an see if they can surprise me???
It's gonna be hard to find one that has the same power to keep up in terms of speed and acceleration... so a e28 535 would be as close as you can get to a e39 528.. I think they are only 4 or so hp off.
Having driven the e28 multiple times and owning the e34 and e39, I think the e39 feels like it doesn't handle as good as the other two. Of course, thats not the case, but it feels like the e34 and e28 are a bit crisper.
BeelZ, by surprise I hope you understand I didn't mean that it would come up and beat you, I was just saying that for an old car it would do pretty damn well.

I knew what you meant man - I can understand driving the older models may feel like a better drive too as you may be a little more involved in things. Personally I would love to have a track day with all of the different 5's there from conception to todays e60, and I bet I could have a ball in all of them.
